Asus has posted a video showcasing the features of their Eee Top desktop PC over at YouTube. This thing is amazing - VERY portable for a desktop PC, it has a touchscreen monitor, surround sound audio out, a chicklit keyboard and more!

I saw ISAAC at Harris Teeter!!!
OK, so maybe it was a cardboard cutout of him promoting a luggage contest...
STILL. I was very surprised to see our very own Love Boat bartender being used in advertising today, in full cruise ship uniform, no less!
And I've been singing that theme song ever since I saw it a couple of hours ago.
Oh, watch the guest stars closely in the video. Yep, that IS sweet little Kim Richards you see there, aka Paris Hilton's aunt. Who knew that the precious little girl who played Tia on the Witch Mountain movies would ever be related to something like Paris...

My PDA/Phone Screensaver
My new iPaq PDA/Phone came with an HP Photo program that has a built-in screensaver. All I have to do is point the program to a directory on my iPaq or a storage card inserted in the device, and it will display all of the pictures it finds in that directory as a screensaver.
Currently, I am greatly enjoying a variety of favorite book covers. Of course, I add new covers to this screensaver every day, but with more than a gigabyte of storage still available, I have no need to remove any yet. Which makes me very, very happy...
I've read or will read all of the books in this screensaver, and seeing their cover here never fails to bring a smile to my face. It doesn't hurt that there are some really great books in this collection either. *grin*
Wanna see it? I recorded a video of it on my PC so I could share it... There is no sound, just the pictures. Enjoy!

Like twisted, politically incorrect, and dang funny?
I've loved the Mik Wright line of gifts and cards for years, but the store I used to buy them at in Nashville closed some time back and I couldn't remember the name so I could find them online.
Imagine my utter delight when I stumbled across the Mik Wright coasters in Books-a-Million!!! I bought a bunch, of course, and they never fail to crack me up.
I've posted some of my favorites here, but you can browse all of their line at their website, or of course you can Google the term "Mik Wright" to find other online retailers that carry their product.

Gorgeous Hand-crafted Jewelry!
Diane, a friend of mine, has opened a fabulous online jewelry store in partnership with her mother, Betty. Every piece is hand-made by them and you can tell by the workmanship that they love what they do. This was a hobby for them that they've now been able to turn into a business, and I applaud them soundly for following their dreams and doing what they love!
Each piece of jewelry is a little work of art, and they lovingly name them something special and descriptive. I have seen their work up close and personal and can avow to the fact that it looks just as good, if not better, in real life as it does in the photos on their site!
You can visit their store, All Jewelry Great and Small to purchase their jewelry. Don't forget to stop by their blog, where they look for feedback, interaction, and inspiration.
I've posted some of my favorite pieces below, and I can tell you I will be ordering some new jewelry very soon... :-) The pictures below are linked to that item's page at All Jewelry Great and Small, so just click that picture if you want to learn more about that piece. I fell for this darling little bracelet the moment I saw it! They call it Peacock Feathers. Perfect, don't you think?
Royal Red I is just gorgeous. And red works year-round!
Of course, since turquoise is a favorite of mine, this necklace and earring set calls to me irresistibly! They call this one Chip Off the Old Block.I love Russian Jade - it goes with many of my winter clothes!
This bracelet and earring set is called Funny Girl. I love the color and the whimsy of this one!

Great Amazon feature!
OK, you guys may not be as happy as I am about this, but it is a feature I have longed wished for at Amazon.com. Maybe it was there and I've missed it, but I know I've looked for it before, so I think it may be fairly new - at least in the last year.
What's that? You want me to get to the point? LOL Alright, then...
See, I have a lot of pre-orders at Amazon.com and I often order items as I notice them. Many of those pre-ordered items end up releasing on the same date, and so I've had a bunch of different orders shipped separately but arriving the same day. Well, that wastes money on shipping, packing material, and is tedious to keep track of.
You don't want to delete and re-order items, because then you might end up paying a higher price due to Amazon's pre-order pricing policy which affords you the lowest price the item was ever priced at between the time you placed the order and the date it actually shipped.
They now have a function to Combine Orders! Not only does this save on shipping and reduce the number of boxes that have to be signed for on the receiving end, it makes it much easier for me to see my pre-ordered items at a glance, since it organizes items shipping on the same date by that date. Now I can easily see if I've accidentally ordered two copies of Lora Leigh's upcoming book Dawn's Awakening, or just the one. I can also see at a glance how many items to expect a charge for at once.
How do you do it? Very easily. Just log into Amazon.com, go to the Your Account area, and look in the top section titled Where's My Stuff for the link to Combine Orders. Then you are moved to an area where you can check the option box next to all of the orders you wish to combine.
I hope some of you find this as useful as I do!

P.S. You will want to have your shipping set to ship items as soon as they come available in these orders, of course, else all of your items in that order will be held up until the last pre-ordered item is released.

The Gender Genie - Interesting tool
http://www.bookblog.net/gender/genie.html
Post an excerpt of approximately 500 words or so and submit it, and it will examine the text to determine if it is more likely written by a man or a woman.
Very interesting... It even tells you the basis on which the determination is made.
